1) I want you to work on a photo. What should I do?
Fill out an order form on this site, print it and send it along with your photo to the address at the bottom of the order form. Please remember to sign and date the order form once you have printed it to show that you have read and understood the terms and conditions. You should make sure that you use a strong envelope to post your photographs and that you have the correct postage on it. It is also advisable to write a return address on the envelope. Once I receive your photo(s) I will send a quote to you by e-mail.
2) Do you accept digital photos?
Yes, you can send photos on a CD or as an attachment to an e-mail. If you're scanning your own photos then you should scan them at 400dpi. You can fill out an online order form by clicking on the order form link on the sidebar. However, if you have a physical copy of the photo available though, then you should send this as I prefer to have a print to look at when I'm working on a photograph.
3) How much will it cost?
This is a very difficult question to answer because it all depends on the complexity of what you want done and the size of the photo. Once I have received your photograph(s), I will send you a quote before I start working. The price guidelines and examples pages should give you an idea of the charges.
4) My photograph is very badly damaged and I'm not sure if it can be restored.        What should I do?
You can e-mail me your photo to me so that I can have a look at it before you post it. It is difficult to be sure though until I get a proper look at the photo and begin working on it so you are best just to send it straight to me. If I cannot do the work then I will return your photo for no charge, but it is usually possible for at least some improvement.
5) I have a photo that I would like edited or restored, but I do not live in the UK.
    Can I still send it?
I will accept from photos from abroad, but there will be extra charges associated with non-UK orders, such as postage. Please e-mail me for more information if you intend to send a photograph from outwith the UK.
6) Can I pay by switch or credit card?
Yes, once you have sent your photo(s) and received your quote by e-mail you can make a card payment by PayPal. You do so by clicking on the PayPal button on the sidebar to the left of any of the site pages. You do not need a PayPal account and it is a very secure method of payment. There is a small fee for paying using PayPal, which is marked as the postage and packaging cost. This extra cost will be made aware to you before you confirm the payment. Other payment methods accepted are cheques, postal orders and cash. Please note that it is not advisable to send cash through the post though.
7) How do you restore my photo?
I scan your photo to make a digital copy of it and I then use photo editing software to carry out the changes on a computer. For restorations I use a complex painting tool to edit the pixels that make up the image and also make alterations to contrast, brightness and colour as necessary. The finished photograph is printed on high quality inkjet printer or you can pay a little more to have your print done at a specialist photo lab. This is recommended as the quality is better and it will ensure that your photo will last for many years to come.
8) Is there any risk to my original photo?
There is no risk of the photograph being damaged during the editing process since the work is not carried out on the original photo. The original is not altered at all and is returned to you completely unchanged. I take great care of your photo when it is in my care as I realise that they are often of great sentimental value. In the highly unlikely event of your photo being accidentally damaged I will do my best to restore it, but this has never happened.
9) How long will it take for me to get my photos back?
Usually I send your quote by e-mail on the day I receive your photo, which is normally one or two days after it is posted. Once I receive your payment, I will send out a confirmation e-mail with an estimated completion date. Usually you will receive your photos in less than a week from the date that I receive your payment.
10) What if I am not happy with the results?
You can have your photos redone for no extra charge if you contact me within 28 days of receiving them. You will need to return the print(s) that you were not pleased with.
